Crazy about Craft beer

It was not until the craft beer revolution in South Africa first hit my radar a few years back that I started to drink and actually enjoy beer. Thanks must go to that first

Darling brew ale, that changed it all for me. Now days the wine lands are full of micro breweries and those wanting to add craft beer tastings to their winelands tour can now do so.

The bespoke wine tour offers travelers complete flexibility in creating their dream tour whether that be to drink wine, beer or both. These are some of my favorite wineland's breweries that cater to the beer and wine drinker alike...

Anura is conveninetly situated between Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek and can easily be added to a tour to any of these wine routes. The winery is situated alongside the brewery and pictured below is their restaurant where one can sample beer with lunch.

Spice Route, has been nicknamed the Disneyland of the Cape winelands, simply because they have enough to offer the visitor to fill an entire day. There is the wine tasting, a brewery, chocolate tasting, grappa tasting, three restaurants to choose from, ice cream, art galleries and more.

Back to the beer, CBC is one of the most popular craft beers in SA and the brewery tastings are a must do!

Joostenberg, is an organic winery, bistro, deli and butchery and now also home to a craft brewery. They offer delicious lunches in the bistro and the taproom offer a tasty picnic menu to accompany your beer tasting.

Remhoogte is one of my favorite Stellenbosch wineries, its a small family farm with incredible views, magic wines and a small collection of craft beers which you can sample with your wine tasting.

The Leeu Collection in Franschhoek is home to a premium wine lounge showcasing the wines of Chris and Andrea Mullineux and next door is their micro-brewery called Tuk Tuk. Tuk Tuk is the sister brewery to Cape Brewing Company and at the moment only offer CBC beers. That all changes this Friday when they launch the first of their own brews. which they have been working on since they opened their doors earlier in the year.
